Optimize Your Mazdaspeed’s Performance with the “GS55° Timing Kit”
Advancing the intake camshaft is a proven strategy to boost low-end engine torque—precisely where the engine tends to be weakest. By opening the intake valves earlier in the piston’s cycle, cylinder filling is improved, resulting in increased low-end torque and significantly quicker turbo spool. Typically, VVT advance is maximized at low RPM, then gradually reduced to 0° between 4500 and 5000 RPM, where additional advance becomes ineffective—or even detrimental—to power output.
For vehicles equipped with larger turbochargers, often prone to noticeable lag, this increased advance is particularly beneficial, especially in street-driven applications where throttle response is crucial.
Our high-performance VVT actuator allows for up to 55° of crankshaft advance (27.5° camshaft degrees), compared to the OEM’s 36°. Paired with our reinforced timing kit—far more resistant to stretch than the OEM chain—this setup is built for high-power configurations. The additional 19° of advance enables even faster turbo spool and shifts the torque curve leftward on the RPM scale, significantly improving low-end response—especially when running high-duration camshafts that typically compromise low RPM performance. Our VVT is made from a genuine FoMoCo Part.
The oil pump gear is included in the “GS55° Timing Kit” with bigger chain too.
Unlike Mazda’s OEM VVT system, which is mechanically limited to 36°, the “GS55° Timing Kit” supports more aggressive tuning strategies with no mechanical limitations. The upgraded timing chain also ensures exceptional long-term durability.
Unleash Your Mazdaspeed's True Potential with the GS55° Timing Kit
Looking to boost low-end torque, improve throttle response, and make your turbo spool like never before?
The GS55° Timing Kit is the ultimate upgrade for serious Mazdaspeed enthusiasts.
💥 Up to 55° of Crankshaft Advance
Unlock the full potential of your intake camshaft with 55° of advance (27.5° camshaft degrees)—a major leap from the OEM's 36°. That means stronger low-end torque, quicker turbo spool, and sharper throttle response, right where your engine needs it most. VVT made from genuine FoMoCo VVT.
⚙️ Reinforced High-Performance Timing System
The GS55° kit includes a beefed-up timing chain that resists stretch far better than stock—even under extreme power levels. Designed for durability and reliability, it keeps your setup rock solid, mile after mile.
🚀 Faster Spool for Bigger Turbos
Running a larger turbo with noticeable lag? This kit is your solution. The increased cam advance helps spool your turbo faster, dramatically improving drivability—especially in street-driven builds.
📈 Tuning Freedom, No Mechanical Limits
While the OEM VVT system tops out at 36° and limits your tuning options, the GS55° Timing Kit removes that barrier. Push your cam maps further with confidence—no mechanical restrictions, just performance.
Designed for high-power builds. Engineered for durability. Tuned for domination.
Take control of your powerband and experience a whole new level of performance with the GS55° Timing Kit.
